The officials Talladega Superspeedway declared today the title sponsor of the fall NASCAR Cup Series playoff race, which will be held on 2 October 2022.
The NASCAR Cup Series playoff second race YellaWood 500 is scheduled to be held at 2:00 P.M ET. Sunday schedule includes a double-header racing event, the Chevy Silverado 250 in Talladega it is a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series playoff race start at noon ET.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series Sparks 300 at the Talladega playoff race will begin at 4:00 P.M ET. TALLADEGA’s Chevy Silverado 250 will be the knockout round of the 10th round, two Gander Trucks drivers will be eliminated from the championship battle, and TALLADEGA’s Sparks 300 will be the second round in the Round of 12.
Talladega Superspeedway President Brian Crichton said, when we organized a limited number of fans back to the track in June, we knew it took on a huge responsibility. It was a great tribute then to be one of the first sports facilities to receive fans after the pandemic began, and it is a big honor as we host the NASCAR playoffs for our fans.
The NASCAR Cup YellaWood 500 will be the last race at Talladega, for the Jimmie Johnson, who has won the seven-time NASCAR Cup Series and two-time Talladega race title. The defending champion of the YellaWood 500 is the Ryan Blaney and the latest cup champion when he won the GEICO 500 in June. Both races were won by a narrow margin of seven thousands of a second.
