Since 1998, the race was played at the World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, and the track was closed in 2010. It was returned in 2014 on the schedule with new ownership.

In 2011, these tracks were sold to former club racer and INDYCAR Indy Lights driver Curtis. In 2012, he brought the NHRA tour back on the track. NASCAR and Francois discussed returning to the Truck Series in 2014.
