The NASCAR Cup Series 2024 South Point 400 will take place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas on Sunday, October 20, 2024, without spectators due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It consists of more than 267 laps with a distance of 400.5 miles (640.8 km). The South Point 400 is the 34th race on the NASCAR Cup Series calendar, the 4th race of the playoffs, and the 1st race of the 12th round. NASCAR fans enjoy this weekend's double-header racing event in Las Vegas, including NASCAR Xfinity Alsco 302 and NASCAR Cup Series South Point 400.

LVMS President Chris Powell said: We are disappointed that we will play the South Point 400 playoff weekend without fans. Our employees have been working since the Pennzoil 400 in February, many of them worked remotely - to set up the speedway for our playoff double-header.

The fall race at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway was shifted to Las Vegas at the beginning of 2018, and it was announced on 8 March 2017. The Fall race in Las Vegas was the first game of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series playoffs to replace Chicagoland Speedway and it was returned in July.

Due to the scorching heat in September, the 2019 race has been moved to prime time to make drivers and riders more comfortable. In 2020, the race will take place as the first race of the12th round as part of a realignment of the schedule
